HELP!

Recently I received a text message from a friend in a group text with the words - HELP. Without thought I responded to ensure she was ok, and took an extra step to call when she didn't respond fast enough. Another friend in the group text also commented to make sure everything was ok. It was so random. Just out of nowhere the four letters - HELP.

I was filled with relieve when she joyful answered the phone with the words -Hello! I immediately inquired if her message was a text requesting help because she was in distress. She laughed and said "Oh no. I was talking about the earlier text about stocks and investing. I let her know that we thought something was wrong. I jokingly told her that I was relieved to find out that she wasn't in someone's trunk asking for help.

Have you ever had to ask for help? Have you ever offered help to someone else? Are you in a place to help someone else? Were you always in a place to help someone else? Have you ever had to be someone else's keeper? It's a refreshing feeling being able to help someone when you can.

Even with helping, it is important to keep a balance. I often say "Lord, Bless me so that I may be a blessing to someone else." I enjoy helping others. I remember one day after work, I helped a couple of people who asked for my help. I agreed and ensured everything they needed from me was accomplished. I finally made it home close to 10 p.m. that night. In reflection of my day, I purposed not to make that my routine. There's noting wrong with helping others, but ensure that you can assist when called upon. Ensure that you have set aside time for yourself. If you consume your time with helping others, who is helping you?
